Our Princess turns 4 today!

Alexis,
I remember four years ago the excitement and anticipation we had for your arrival. You were the first granchild on both sides of the family and both sets of your grandparents were elated for your arrival. The absolute joy and unconditional love Daddy and I had that day is unexplainable. We have been so blessed in your four years of life. The love, kindness and laughter you bring to our family is amazing. Through the years we have watched you grow into an amazingly kindhearted little girl. We are most proud of your love and eagerness to learn about the Lord. It makes our hearts sing each time we hear you speak of your love for Jesus! We love the way you take such care and love with your little brother(even though I know somedays it is hard). He loves you so much and you have been such a great example to him. It makes my heart melt when he wants to do everything like you and has such excitement in his voice saying "Sister".

The things we want for your life are abundant in number. The number one thing we want for you is to never lose your faith or love for the Lord. He will carry you through the good and bad times of life! Never forget to keep him close to your heart! We want you to be happy and always know that we will be here for you no matter what life throws your way. Follow your dreams and know that you can do anything as long as you believe in yourself. Most of all we want you to know that our life is abundantly blessed with you and Joseph in it. We are so blessed to have you in our life. You are truly our little princess. So, enjoy today baby girl! We love you!!

Some important points to live by!

This morning I was reading the Women of Faith blog site and I ran across this list of 10 things that the author felt were important to live by. I read them and thought well that is nice, left my computer and went about my routine. Something kept telling me to go back to my computer and really set down and study what points were made. So I did and boy what a wake up call! Thank you Lord for this reminder and for the love you give me so graciously each day. I took time to share the points with you. Hope you have a great day today!!

1. Surround yourself with people who build you up.
2. Take care of your body.
3. You make your decisions—but then your decisions make you.
4. A chapter of Proverbs a day keeps the stupids away.
5. Keep your destiny in mind.
6. Pray about everything.
7. Never make important decisions when you are tired or hungry.
8. Take time to decide what is worth doing, then do it with your whole heart and with excellence.
9. Call home.
10. Love God.

2011 brings changes and promises for a bright future

Where to begin, well we have lots of changes going on in our family right now. We had the honor and priveledge to serve on the leadership team at our church. We learned so much about ourselves and our faith walk. We made some long lasting friendships that we know we will carry on for a lifetime. We have had many of these relationships since Steve and I began our journey as a married couple 5 years ago. Many of my friends and I were pregnant at the same time which was an amazing journey in itself. I have come to know some amazing women of God in the past five years that I look up to and cherish. We closed the doors of our church in Jan. but Steve and I felt such a peace about the decision. We knew that our church had served it's purpose and done some amazing things in this community. We were a little lost at first not really knowing what direction the Lord wanted us to go but we are allowing him to open doors of opportunity that we know will bring amazing blessings!

So, one of the opportunities we have embraced is that we are both continuing our education. Steve is pursuing his bachelor's degree in fire science. I am so proud of him! I am also attempting to meet some of my own career goals. I have always been so interested in the legal field but my passion was really to be a nurse. I became aware of a program that incorporated both. So, I have decided to pursue being a certified legal nurse consultant. The best part of this is that I can do it all from home which was the most appealing part. I have applied for some scholarships to help pay for it and am ready to get started!

Alexis is learning so much in preschool and growing up so fast! It is crazy to think she will be four this month. She is so interested in books, princess and any outdoor activities. Joseph is a very active, sweet and loving little guy. He amazes me every day with the things he picks up on. He loves anything that has to do with Toy Story or Stuart Little. We feel so blessed to have such amazing, healthy children. Isn't it amazing how the miracle of a child can change your life forever!

Well, I guess that is all for now but we will keep you all updated! Have a great rest of the week!!

Ski trip to Breckenridge!

We had so much fun on our trip. Thanks to Mimi and Pops for going and keeping me and the kids entertained while Daddy skied!
