The greatest gifts in life!

I know it has been forever since I have blogged. Sorry! We have been super busy. We have had the pleasure of having Uncle Tony visit. This is very rare so we have taken in every minute of his visit. We love him so much and often wish that he would move here and open his own restaraunt. He is an excellent chef in the Austin area and though that area is very appealing I continue to assure him that Amarillo would offer him a much better life!! I don't know that he is quite convinced yet. Oh well, we will continue to love him no matter where he may be.

Alexis is done with school this week! Yea! I think she is ready to be out for the summer but she has loved school. She is going to be in dance class in June and July. She is in swim lessons and to our surprise we are in class with my friend Tina and her son John. We have so enjoyed getting to visit with them! Joseph was recently diagnosed with asthma. The doctor said that allergies, eczema and asthma all go hand in hand. Poor baby! He is so active and loves to play outside with Ginger our dog. We are so ready for summer!!! Have a great week everyone!

Life is crazy but isn't it wonderful!

We have been super busy here lately. It seems like time is just flying by! I still cant believe my kiddos are four and two. Alexis is growing up so fast! She is so excited for the summer because she loves to be outside and to swim. We are signing her up for swim lessons and she is going to take dance classes as well. She loves to dance and is always dancing around the house pretending to be a fairy princess. I can not wait to see what this summer holds for her!!

Joseph is learning how to count and has a pretty good vocabulary. He loves baseball and playing outside. We bought him a t-ball stand and he is trying hard to master his swing. We just started to work on potty training and I was informed by Steve that I was doing it wrong. I have been having Joseph sit on the potty to go peepee and poopy. Steve was completely appauled at my techniques for potty training our son so needless to say he is in charge of Joseph at this point. Joseph has really turned into such a little love bug. He really does love his sister, mommy and daddy.

We are still visiting churches. We are not real sure where the Lord wants us to go right now but we are confident he has a wonderful church home for our family we just have to be patient. Steve and I are still working on our school. It is much harder to find time for school than I thought it would be but I am making it through. We are so fortunate to have such amazing parents that will help us with our kids at any time. Thank you Nana, Papa, Mimi and Pops for all your love, support and encouragement! You are the best! Have a great week everyone!

Our Princess turns 4 today!

Alexis,
I remember four years ago the excitement and anticipation we had for your arrival. You were the first granchild on both sides of the family and both sets of your grandparents were elated for your arrival. The absolute joy and unconditional love Daddy and I had that day is unexplainable. We have been so blessed in your four years of life. The love, kindness and laughter you bring to our family is amazing. Through the years we have watched you grow into an amazingly kindhearted little girl. We are most proud of your love and eagerness to learn about the Lord. It makes our hearts sing each time we hear you speak of your love for Jesus! We love the way you take such care and love with your little brother(even though I know somedays it is hard). He loves you so much and you have been such a great example to him. It makes my heart melt when he wants to do everything like you and has such excitement in his voice saying "Sister".

The things we want for your life are abundant in number. The number one thing we want for you is to never lose your faith or love for the Lord. He will carry you through the good and bad times of life! Never forget to keep him close to your heart! We want you to be happy and always know that we will be here for you no matter what life throws your way. Follow your dreams and know that you can do anything as long as you believe in yourself. Most of all we want you to know that our life is abundantly blessed with you and Joseph in it. We are so blessed to have you in our life. You are truly our little princess. So, enjoy today baby girl! We love you!!

Some important points to live by!

This morning I was reading the Women of Faith blog site and I ran across this list of 10 things that the author felt were important to live by. I read them and thought well that is nice, left my computer and went about my routine. Something kept telling me to go back to my computer and really set down and study what points were made. So I did and boy what a wake up call! Thank you Lord for this reminder and for the love you give me so graciously each day. I took time to share the points with you. Hope you have a great day today!!

1. Surround yourself with people who build you up.
2. Take care of your body.
3. You make your decisions—but then your decisions make you.
4. A chapter of Proverbs a day keeps the stupids away.
5. Keep your destiny in mind.
6. Pray about everything.
7. Never make important decisions when you are tired or hungry.
8. Take time to decide what is worth doing, then do it with your whole heart and with excellence.
9. Call home.
10. Love God.

2011 brings changes and promises for a bright future

Where to begin, well we have lots of changes going on in our family right now. We had the honor and priveledge to serve on the leadership team at our church. We learned so much about ourselves and our faith walk. We made some long lasting friendships that we know we will carry on for a lifetime. We have had many of these relationships since Steve and I began our journey as a married couple 5 years ago. Many of my friends and I were pregnant at the same time which was an amazing journey in itself. I have come to know some amazing women of God in the past five years that I look up to and cherish. We closed the doors of our church in Jan. but Steve and I felt such a peace about the decision. We knew that our church had served it's purpose and done some amazing things in this community. We were a little lost at first not really knowing what direction the Lord wanted us to go but we are allowing him to open doors of opportunity that we know will bring amazing blessings!

So, one of the opportunities we have embraced is that we are both continuing our education. Steve is pursuing his bachelor's degree in fire science. I am so proud of him! I am also attempting to meet some of my own career goals. I have always been so interested in the legal field but my passion was really to be a nurse. I became aware of a program that incorporated both. So, I have decided to pursue being a certified legal nurse consultant. The best part of this is that I can do it all from home which was the most appealing part. I have applied for some scholarships to help pay for it and am ready to get started!

Alexis is learning so much in preschool and growing up so fast! It is crazy to think she will be four this month. She is so interested in books, princess and any outdoor activities. Joseph is a very active, sweet and loving little guy. He amazes me every day with the things he picks up on. He loves anything that has to do with Toy Story or Stuart Little. We feel so blessed to have such amazing, healthy children. Isn't it amazing how the miracle of a child can change your life forever!

Well, I guess that is all for now but we will keep you all updated! Have a great rest of the week!!

Ski trip to Breckenridge!

We had so much fun on our trip. Thanks to Mimi and Pops for going and keeping me and the kids entertained while Daddy skied!

Special day with Daddy!

Alexis had a very special day with Daddy at preschool. She made him the cutest calender. At the top of the calender, they asked her some questions and her answers were quite comical. For example: How old is your daddy? answer: He is four Where does your daddy work? Answer: Texas (at least she was in the right state).

She was so proud to get to take her daddy to school. We are so thankful for the amazing blessing we have in Alexis!

This is our latest picture of our family taken by my very talented friend Krystal. We had a very eventful 2010, some good some bad but all in all God's amazing love and grace prevailed. We learned some very valuable lessons that we are taking into 2011. We are looking forward to the amazing adventure the Lord has in store for our family this year.

Alexis will be four next month. Can't believe how fast she is growing. Seems like yesterday she was a tiny newborn. She attends preschool and loves it. She is learning so much! We are so proud of her.

Joseph is two this year and growing like a weed. He is talking more and more. He can count to three which I found a little impressive but I am just his mom! He loves his sister and tries his hardest to imitate her every move! He is truly a blessing in our life just like his sister.

We are so excited for the new challenges God has placed before us! We just wanted to take this time to invite all of you to see what goes on in the Crum household.
